The Council

Blandford St Mary Parish Council hold their meetings on the first Wednesday of each month, starting at 7pm at The Brewery Hall in Hall & Woodhouse Visitor Centre, Bournemouth Road, Blandford St Mary. DT11 9LS  (Minutes and Agendas click here) Members of the public are encouraged to come along to see how the Council work for them and to raise any questions or concerns they may have.

The Parish Council is a civil local authority found in England and is the first tier of local government. They are volunteers and are elected corporate bodies for the Council.

Parish councils have the power to precept (tax) their residents to support their operations and to carry out local projects. The exercise of powers is at the discretion of the council, but they are legally obliged to exercise duties.
